Kai Gibson is the owner and wood artisan of Royal Woodworks, located at 206 Adcock Road in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Kai and his wife, Patricia, recently moved to Royal from Hawaii, and with more than 15 years' experience, he is now incorporating skills he learned from the many Hawaiian artisans there, and is excited to be sharing that legacy with Arkansans.

Many innovative ideas, along with love and appreciation of exotic woods, were born out of this diverse culture, and as a token of respect and gratitude, Kai has chosen to include in his business logo the great king of Hawaii, King Kamehameha, and through his memory, pays homage to the many talented artisans to come out of this era.

With his acquired artistic flare and great attention to detail, Kai designs his one-of-a-kind pieces unique to their incorporation of sculptured accents of exotic woods such as Koa, Limba, Zebra, Ebony, Quilted Maple, etc. Under his wife's keen eye for excellence, each piece is inspected to meet great expectations. Special care is given to wood finishes. A process of sanding up to 1,000-grit sandpaper is used to enhance and leave a polished look, even before the oil is added. Danish and Tongue oils are perferred, and this technique compliments the end product, adding that special patina to the finished product.

Kai is not limited to the standard relief carving. He also has a wonderful technique of creating a three-dimensional look that invokes excitement to detail and a realistic concept in the subject of his carving.

Whether it's a jewerly box carved with your favorite flower, or a massive entertainment center custom designed to meet your needs, we're here to exceed your expectations.

All our work is warranted and we believe in treating our customers "like royalty." Extensive care is taken in creating pieces to be treasured and passed down through generations.

Come let us serve you!

Thank you,
Royal Woodworks
